2021 Standard Grading Rules for Northeastern Lumber Now Available in Spanish

Cumberland, Maine — NELMA (Northeastern Lumber Manufacturers Association) is pleased to announce that the grading rules and associated sections from the 2021 Standard Grading Rules for Northeastern Lumber has been translated into Spanish (MX).

To access the information: click on www.nelma.org. Once there, click on the Member tab at the top of the homepage, scroll down to “Clases Tabla (Board) de Pino Blanco Oriental.” This leads to a dedicated webpage and the translations of Section 3 (Eastern White Pine Board Grades); Section 12 (General Definitions and Instructions for Grading Eastern White Pine Boards); and Section 10 (Glossary & Abbreviations). A PDF version may be printed and downloaded directly from the website.

“Our goal at NELMA is to provide the most up-to-date lumber grading information to as many people throughout the industry as possible,” said Jeff Easterling, president of NELMA. “This translation furthers our goal of providing the exact assistance needed to our members to help them be successful.”

Founded in 1933, NELMA (Northeastern Lumber Manufacturers Association) is the rules writing agency for Eastern White Pine lumber and the grading authority for other commercially important Northeastern and Great Lakes softwood lumber species that includes Eastern Spruce, Norway Spruce, Balsam Fir, and Red Pine. In addition, NELMA is a leading agency for export wood packaging certification and the marketing voice for its lumber manufacturing members.
