BA Technologies has released a new wireless device charging technology that can be incorporated into a variety of applications, including millwork, countertops, and furniture.

Ranging in size from 6 inches by 3.5 inches to 8.5 inches by 5.7 inches, the DekTek offers freedom of placement, automatic multi-device charging, 40-millimeter vertical range, and easy installation beneath nearly any non-metal surface, the company says.

“Wireless charging has often been riddled with problems: direct placement between device and transmitter, installation problems with surface materials, 1:1 ratio, slower charging, and small charging zone areas, just to name a few,” the company says.

But DekTek, the company explains, can charge up to three devices at a time even if they have different power requirements. It comes in a 10- and 16-watt version, and the company will soon add a 33-watt transmitter that will be able to charge a laptop.

Using a frequency between AM and FM radio signals, DekTek is safe to use and complies with all safety guidelines set by the CE, FCC, and ICNIRP, the company says.
