Deckorators Expands Voyage Composite Decking Line With Khaya, Varied-Plank Decking

Deckorators expanded its composite decking to include a fifth color — Khaya, a true brown —and varied-plank decking.

Deckorators has expanded its award-winning line of Deckorators VoyageTM composite decking to include a fifth color — Khaya, a true brown —and varied-plank decking. The leading manufacturer of composite decking, deck railing, balusters, post caps and related products revealed the new-for-2020 products to deck builders and building material dealers at DeckExpo 2019 (booth 1019) in Louisville, Kentucky.

Khaya (true brown) joins four other trend-forward color options in the Deckorators Voyage decking offering: Sierra (dark gray), Tundra (gray), Costa (golden brown), and Mesa (red brown). The new color meets deck contractor and homeowner demand for a darker brown composite decking with the unique Voyage benefits of enhanced slip resistance and bold vertical grain variegation. Khaya also adds a third brown tone to the Voyage family, allowing for creative color combinations.

New Deckorators Voyage varied-plank decking is available in all five colors and widths of 3½ inches, 5½ inches and 7¼ inches, bringing the interior design trend of mixing widths of hardwood flooring to outdoor living. Compared to competitive multi-width decking options composed of PVC, Voyage varied-plank decking made with patented EovationsTM technology is similar in weight, significantly stronger, allows less thermal movement and absorbs less moisture. Adding to the advantages of Deckorators varied-plank decking over competitive options, the 3½-inch and 7¼-inch widths are available with grooved-edge profiles for use with hidden fasteners.

Khaya is available in 12-, 16- and 20-foot grooved and solid-edge profiles, as well as 12-foot fascia. The 3½- and 7¼-inch widths of multi-plank decking come in a 20-foot length; the 5½-inch multi-plank option is available in 12-, 16- and 20-foot lengths. All Voyage varied-plank decking is available in grooved and solid-edge profiles.

The entire Voyage decking line is backed by a 25-year structural, 25-year stain-and-fade and 25-year removal-and-replacement limited deck warranty as well as coverage for water and ground contact.

“We consult our partners in the Deckorators Certified Pro program when developing new products,” said Chris Camfferman, managing director of marketing for Deckorators. “Our Pros told us they loved Voyage and wanted more color and design options. New Khaya and varied-plank decking drastically increase the design possibilities for contractors and their clients.”

First introduced to the industry at DeckExpo 2018, Deckorators Voyage composite decking quickly became a favorite of deck builders, a differentiator for lumberyards and dealers, and a focus of industry observers. Voyage earned three 2019 top products honors from trade media outlets, and was included among the “Top 5 Break Out Products of 2019” on The Ultimate Deck Podcast.

Like other members of the Deckorators EovationsTM decking family — Vault and Frontier — Voyage composite decking is 35 percent lighter than most wood-plastic composite decking, offers the industry’s best strength-to-weight ratio, absorbs virtually no moisture, and offers the market’s lowest thermal expansion/contraction.

Voyage decking adds to those benefits unique textured embossing for 34 percent or greater surface traction than other leading brands of composite decking, plus the beautiful look of vertical grain variegation.

“Deckorators Voyage decking has set a new industry standard for the performance, aesthetics and value a deck board can offer,” Camfferman said.
