Home renovation and design platform Houzz now offers detailed 3D kitchen design visualizer tools to help residential professionals effectively communicate ideas with clients.

Subscribers of Houzz Pro marketing and business management software will now be able to convey their kitchen visions fully to clients through 2D floor plans and 3D visualization of cabinets, appliances, islands, drawers, sinks, and faucets. It’s especially helpful at a time when supply chains are disrupted and home improvement demand remains sky high, the company says.

“Kitchens command the highest spend and are one of the most consistently popular projects among homeowners. We’re seeing even more demand than usual as inquiries for kitchen remodels have doubled on Houzz compared to the same period last year,” said Alon Cohen, Houzz co-founder and president. “As pros manage an increasingly full project load, they shared that they needed an easy and efficient way to help their clients visualize their project and expedite the decision making process. Considering recent supply chain constraints on quartz countertops, cabinetry and other materials, we’re pleased that pros can use the Houzz Pro 3D Floor Planner to align on important project decisions with their clients early in the process and order materials as soon as possible.”

This update enhances Houzz Pro’s abilities. Previously, subscribers could visualize floor plans through flooring, paint, and furniture options. Now, there are varieties of kitchen surface details, hardware materials and finishes, countertop styles and edges, and appliances in a range of sizes to choose from. Appliances available to visualize include range hoods, refrigerators, dishwashers, cooktops, microwaves, and ovens. Cabinet and drawer configurations can be individually selected, as can panel styles, colors, and wood finishes.

Clients can view the visualization of their project in a 2D floor plan view, or a 3D dollhouse and walkthrough mode.

“Being able to show our clients a 3D floor plan of their project helps them to envision their life in the space which makes the entire process move forward more smoothly,” said Lindsay Floyd, designer and purchaser at kitchen and bath remodeling firm, Kimber Homes. “The Houzz Pro 3D Floor Planner makes it easy to create multiple versions of a kitchen project with different layouts and details like gray shaker cabinets paired with granite countertops. Clients can see all of the possibilities for their kitchen and the varying costs of each, before making a decision. They feel like they know exactly what they’re getting.”

Residential professionals can measure the dimensions of the room they are working on through the Houzz Pro app, including exact measurements for doors and windows. Or dimensions can directly be inserted into the visualizer tool.

Houzz Pro memberships start from $49 a month and reach upwards of $1,000 depending on subscription. Other 3D visualizer features include the addition of furniture, bathrooms, bedrooms, and gathering rooms.
