Jeld-Wen Launches Mobile, Regional Window Training Initiative

JELD-WEN truck and trailer for mobile window training

Window and door manufacturer Jeld-Wen has opened a regional training center for professional trades and is launching mobile showrooms that will visit dealers and retail centers around the United States.

“Given the current market conditions, we saw a need to provide our partners with the tools and know-how necessary to select and install windows and doors,” Jim Parello, vice president of marketing for Jeld-Wen, said in a statement announcing the news.

The company says it is focused on giving customers access to training when and where it’s most useful, so the company is establishing four training centers—the first of which opened in Rantoul, Ill.

“The learning centers will provide deep-dive training into product features and benefits, installation techniques, and how to specify the right product for the right application,” the company says

In addition, starting in April, four trucks hauling mobile showrooms will visit dealers and retail centers around the United States to showcase the company’s windows and doors. The company says the format is intended to offer a quick, convenient training experience in their community.

Finally, Jeld-Wen is launching an on-demand e-learning program this year as part of the initiative. “The e-learning courses will be tailored to all skill levels--from basic introductions of windows and doors to advanced technical courses on product performance and industry regulations,” the company says.
