One of the most recognizable faucet brands in the United States, Moen has decided to enter the garbage disposal business, introducing a line of products that are, in some cases, 30 percent lighter than comparable models on the market.
“Extending the Moen brand to now include a complete line of garbage disposals was a natural addition to our kitchen portfolio,” says Timothy McDonough, vice president of global brand marketing for Moen.
Each disposal features Vortex permanent magnet motor technology that the company says quickly and powerfully grinds food scraps and provides fast revolutions per minute. Units come equipped with a Universal Xpress Mount for simple and intuitive installation and some feature SoundSHIELD insulation to help deaden disposal noise levels.
“The twist-and-lock mounting within our disposals and a pre-installed power cord mean fewer steps, simplifying installation,” McDonough explains. "Additionally, Moen units are significantly lighter than most disposals in the market—as much as 30 percent or more than comparable models.”
The line is available in seven models from 1/3 horsepower up to 1 horsepower.
