Roxul to Build Plant in West Virginia

Stone wool insulation manufacturer Roxul has announced plans to construct a new production facility on a 130-acre site in Jefferson County, West Virginia.

Stone wool insulation manufacturer Roxul has announced plans to construct a new production facility on a 130-acre site in Jefferson County, West Virginia.

With a total investment exceeding $150 million, the new manufacturing facility will cover about 460,000 square feet and employ around 150 people in positions ranging from management levels to the production line.

Roxul, a subsidiary of the ROCKWOOL Group, says the new facility will add to the already-strong presence in North America, where the company has existing manufacturing sites in Mississippi, Ontario, and British Columbia.

“We aim to continue double-digit growth in the United States, and this new factory will play a major role in ensuring we meet the growing customer demand for non-combustible stone wool insulation in this market,” says ROCKWOOL Group president and CEO Jens Birgersson.

The official groundbreaking is expected in October, with initial production slated to begin in the first quarter of 2020.
