Schneider Electric Introduces New Line of Smart, Connected Home Products

Schneider Electric Square D Energy Center

Electrical products manufacturer Schneider Electric has unveiled three new smart home management products that the company says gives builders more ways to differentiate their homes through increased system connectivity, transparency, and energy control.

“Homes are on track to become the single-largest consumer of electricity and we recognize the environmental impact of this and the challenges new regulations are placing on the building industry to increase efficiency,” says Richard Korthauer, vice president of home and distribution at Schneider Electric. “As a trusted partner for more than 100 years, we are proud to offer builders new solutions, like the Square D Energy Center, to helping them create sustainable homes of the future that offer seamlessly integrated technology for greater peace of mind and energy savings.”

The new collection includes the Wiser Energy Monitor, Square D Energy Center, and new connected wiring device ranges. Schneider explains that the Wiser Energy System and connected wiring devices help respond to changing home buyer needs and evolving environmental regulations.

Here is a breakdown of each product:

Square D Energy Center

The company says this a more resilient, efficient, and aesthetic all-in-one home energy system designed for smart homes that offer personalized digital control over residential energy use.

It addresses changing building regulations, including California’s Title 24 Building Energy Efficiency Standards, requiring solar as part of all new home construction and integrates an array of smart home technology, such as whole-home surge protection, EV connectivity, backup interface module, backup-ready panel, and more.

Square D Wiring Devices

This new line of devices includes connected light switches, dimmers, outlets and combination devices that can control room lighting and monitor energy. Each one has embedded sensors that monitor energy consumption down to the switch level, offering greater insight to optimize residential energy use.

In addition, each offers classic functionality in a wide range of colors to enhance the aesthetics of any home, the company says. The units also are easy to install and are compatible with Alexa and Google Home for voice activation.
