As Jeff Dross, corporate director of education and industry trends at Kichler, has said, design inspiration can come from anywhere. We caught up with him at IBS 2018 to learn about the inspiration behind the lighting manufacturer's newest products.
Dross says that he sees the popularity of oil rubbed bronze declining, while matte black finishes continues to gain in popularity. "[Matte black] is almost always used in combination with another finish," he explains.
Kichler has also introduced both indoor and outdoor lighting in taller sizes. Dross says this is because homes increasingly include taller ceiling heights, so lighting fixtures have more space to fill.
Finally, Dross shared stories of the inspiration behind some of Kichler's popular fixtures. Watch the video above to see Kichler's takes on trends and inspiration in the lighting industry.
