Weather Shield Introduces New All-Aluminum VUE Collection

Ultra-modern, all-aluminum collection with thin frames maximizes views and pushes the limits of design

Medford, Wis.-based window and door manufacturer Weather Shield has introduced a collection of all-aluminum windows and patio doors featuring thin frames and large expanses of glass to maximize views.

The VUE Collection, the company says, provides sophisticated design with ultra-narrow profiles and large spans of glass that seamlessly connect living spaces with the outdoor environment.

“The VUE Collection is uniquely flexible,” says Chris Schield, vice president of product marketing at Weather Shield. “We set out to create an offering that’s highly customizable with features and options well matched to the custom home market. Options such as three distinct glazing beads and a range of anodize and AAMA 2605 rated paint finishes enable architects and homebuilders to create a tailored aesthetic for their projects.”

Designed to deliver the vision of architects and home builders, the VUE Collection’s aluminum frame aims to seamlessly connect windows and doors to create large ribbons of glass in one-of-a-kind configurations, the brand says. The collection also maximizes thermal and structural performance that exceed energy codes, the company says.

The manufacturer says the VUE Collection windows and doors offer four attributes:

  • Ultra-narrow profiles that maximize every view with super-thin profiles and sizes that connect indoor living spaces with the outdoor spaces around them.
  • All VUE Collection products seamlessly connect with one another to create any custom combination of glass walls that can be imagined.
  • Windows and doors offer outstanding thermal performance to meet and exceed energy codes.
  • Design flexibility that offers broad product capability and wide availability of options.

Every window in the VUE Collection features thermally-broken aluminum to withstand the most severe weather conditions, and feature polyamide thermal sections that significantly reduce temperature transfer to the interior of the house. Additionally, the frames have an exterior glazing bead that comes in three options—Square Bead, Narrow Bead, and Beveled Bead—an exterior mullion system to easily connect multiple windows, and an integrated weep channel that provides drainage.

The collection includes casements, awnings, direct-sets and multi-slide doors. Products will be released to select markets this summer, and additional products will be available in 2022.
