Drain manufacturers Easy Sanitary Solutions (ESS) and Infinity Drain have debuted new advancements for linear drains, including ESS’s thinnest drain yet and a new installation method by Infinity Drain.
ESS says its new Xs Series offers the smallest linear drains on the market. Lengths range from 19 ¾ up to 47 ¼ inches with widths just under 2 inches. With the drain frame, the width is widened to 2 ¾ inches.
True to the company’s background, the drains offer German-quality engineering with a Dutch design, according to an ESS press release announcing the line. Despite being a small linear drain, it offers robust drainage capacity, the company says, thanks to a siphon that’s also easy to clean and height-adjustable.

ESS claims its drains are easier to install because of its patented Water Protection System (WPS). WPS uses a flexible waterproofing membrane connected to the linear drain’s flanges, resulting in a 100% watertight installation, says ESS. It also comes with a 10-year warranty.
The new slim Xs Series drains feature minimalist designs with an array of application possibilities. They are available in brushed black steel, brushed cyprum, brushed gold, brushed oiled rubbed bronze, brushed stainless steel, chrome-plated stainless steel, matte black, and matte white.
Infinity Drain’s most recent innovation combines its linear drain with an installation method from Schluter Systems. The FCS Series Fixed Flange Linear drains by Infinity Drain are now available with the Schluter-KERDI membrane attached, enabling a watertight installation. It also includes Schluter’s 10-year warranty forits KERDI waterproofing membranes.

"As waterproofing methods and trends change, designers, architects, and homeowners are looking for high design style options to complement modern waterproofing techniques,” says Jonathan Brill, president of Infinity Drain. “Flooring installers and professional contractors want to do their jobs faster without compromising quality standards or driving up material costs.
The launch of the FCS Series brings functionality, style, and waterproofing science together, says Brill, providing quality product from two industry leaders without compromising the Schluter-System warranty. “It takes advantage of a time-saving step and provides peace of mind since the waterproofing is already factory installed on the linear drain channel."

The new system includes an FCS Series kit with stainless steel grate, channel, hair strainer, ABS channel support, and lift-out key. Other designer finishes include satin and polished stainless, oil rubbed bronze, satin bronze, matte black, and custom options.
Gate designs can also be customized, and Infinity Drain promises a next-day turnaround for custom outlets. Custom outlet placement and frequency can be shipped the next day if requested in time.
